I recently once again had the pleasure of photographing the award-winning author Alice Nelson after ten years. Alice Nelson's beautiful writer's room was designed by Hartree Architects. As Virginia Woolf once said "A woman needs a room of one's own in order to write." - Alice Nelson: "I've had plenty of rooms of my own, and plenty of desks, but never one as beautifuil as my light-filled desk-in-a-window. It's the perfect space to write, to read, to dream." Some of her works include the books "The Last Sky" published by Fremantle Press and "After This - Survivors of the Holocaust speak". Her first novel, The Last Sky, was shortlisted for the Australian / Vogel's Literary Award (2004), won the T.A.G. Hungerford Award (2006) and was shortlisted for the Australian Society of Authors' Barbara Jefferis Award (2009). She was also named Best Young Australian Novelist of 2009 in the Sydney Morning Herald's national awards program. Alice Nelson has two more books being published in the near future!
